What Is Hydro Jetting?
Hydro jetting uses a hose fitted with a special nozzle that sprays water at very high pressure through your pipes. Instead of poking a hole through a clog like a standard drain snake, the water blasts the entire inside of the pipe clean — top, bottom, and sides.
Think of the difference between poking a straw through a milkshake versus rinsing the whole cup out. A snake gets water moving again. Jetting actually removes what’s causing the problem in the first place.
Signs You Need Hydro Jetting Instead of Standard Drain Cleaning
- The same drain has clogged more than once in the past several months
- Water drains slower and slower even right after a cleaning
- You notice a bad smell that keeps coming back
- Multiple fixtures in your home back up around the same time
- You've had tree root intrusion in your sewer line before
- You run a restaurant or commercial kitchen with grease buildup
Why Chandler and East Valley Pipes Build Up So Much
Chandler’s water is hard, usually testing 12 to 20 grains per gallon. Over years, that mineral content leaves scale coating the inside of pipes, similar to the buildup you’d see inside an old coffee pot. That scale narrows the pipe and gives grease, hair, and debris something to stick to.
Older neighborhoods in Mesa, Ahwatukee, and parts of Chandler also have mature trees with root systems that can work their way into sewer lines over time, especially older clay or cast iron lines. Once roots get a foothold, they keep coming back until the line is properly cleaned out.
Both of these problems respond well to hydro jetting because it physically strips the buildup and root intrusion off the pipe wall, rather than just clearing a path through it.
Residential Hydro Jetting
- A kitchen line with years of grease buildup
- A main sewer line with tree root intrusion
- A recurring clog that keeps coming back after standard cleaning
- Preventive maintenance before a kitchen or bathroom remodel
Commercial Hydro Jetting
Restaurants, HOAs, and property managers across the East Valley also rely on scheduled hydro jetting to stay ahead of problems instead of reacting to them:
Restaurant grease trap and kitchen line maintenance
HOA and property management scheduled drain maintenance across multiple units
Commercial kitchen lines that see heavy daily use
If you manage a property or run a business, we can talk through a maintenance schedule that keeps your lines clear before they become a shutdown-level problem.

Is Hydro Jetting Safe for Older Pipes?
This is one of the most common questions we get, and it’s a fair one. Older, already-fragile pipes can be damaged by excessive water pressure if it’s not handled correctly. That’s why we always inspect the line first. If a pipe is too deteriorated for safe jetting, we’ll tell you honestly and talk through other options, like a targeted repair or a partial repipe, rather than risk damaging your plumbing.
How Often Should You Schedule Hydro Jetting?
This depends heavily on what’s causing your buildup and how your home or business uses its plumbing. For most homeowners dealing with a one-time recurring clog, a single hydro jetting service resolves the immediate problem, and you may not need it again for years.
For restaurants and commercial kitchens, grease buildup happens continuously, which means jetting on a set schedule, often every three to six months, prevents the kind of buildup that leads to a shutdown-level clog during business hours.
For homes with known tree root intrusion, an annual or biannual jetting can keep roots from re-establishing themselves in the line between camera inspections.
We’ll help you figure out a realistic schedule based on your specific situation rather than pushing a one-size-fits-all maintenance plan.
What Hydro Jetting Typically Costs
Pricing depends mainly on the length of the line being jetted and what our inspection finds beforehand. A single residential kitchen line is generally less involved than a full main sewer line jetting job, and commercial jobs vary based on the size and layout of the property.
We always inspect first and give you a clear, specific price before starting any jetting work — never a vague range you have to guess at.
Hydro Jetting and Your Home's Plumbing System
common concern homeowners have is whether hydro jetting could somehow damage other parts of their plumbing system. When done correctly, with an inspection beforehand to confirm the pipe can handle it, hydro jetting is one of the safest and most effective ways to fully clean a line without introducing new problems.
The bigger risk actually comes from skipping the inspection step and jetting blind, which is why we never do that. Getting a clear picture of your pipe’s condition first protects your plumbing and your investment in the service.
A Cleaner Option Than Chemical Drain Cleaners
Repeated use of chemical drain cleaners can actually damage older pipes over time, especially in homes with aging copper or galvanized lines already weakened by years of hard water exposure. Hydro jetting clears the line using nothing but high-pressure water, no harsh chemicals involved, which makes it a safer long-term option for both your plumbing and, for homes on a septic system, for the system itself.
For homeowners who’ve relied on chemical drain cleaners for years to manage a recurring clog, switching to a proper hydro jetting service often resolves the underlying problem those chemicals were only ever masking.
Working With HOAs and Multi-Unit Properties
Master-planned communities across Gilbert, Queen Creek, and Chandler often have shared or closely connected plumbing infrastructure across multiple units.
We work with HOAs and property managers on scheduled hydro jetting programs that catch buildup issues across a property before they turn into a widespread, expensive problem affecting multiple residents at once.
